Monodraught are committed to working in an ethical and responsible manner. Our products and services are low-carbon and low-energy solutions, which help people be in a healthier natural built environment, and as such, we are also keen to extend these strong ethical credentials into ways to contribute to our local and wider community.

Monodraught: A place that benefits people

We are always looking at ways to improve our impact on employee wellbeing and how we can help in our local community.

Community Relationships are vital and we are pleased to build on our relationship with Bucks Mind and support them in targeted strategic activities. We continue to source our materials locally, with over 85% of our suppliers within a 100 mile radius of High Wycombe, thereby investing in the local economy and supporting employment opportunities.

More skills, more opportunities

Our main focus in this area is in attracting, developing and retaining people through investment in skills. The Investors in People accreditation is a good example of this. Our Research and Development team also have close links with UK Universities, in particular Bath University, Brunel University and Coventry University and we look forward to working with more placement students this summer.

Positive Environment

Our product set can help our customers create a more positive environment through reduced energy usage and carbon footprint. Across all our product sets we continue to look at ways to innovate and improve the built environment.

Latest Activities

Last year, we undertook a variety of charitable activities and we are looking to consolidate and grow this area in 2019 & 2020. Some of our latest activities are:

Our employees competed in Santa’s Fun Run for the Rotary Club in Marlow and Bucks Mind in 2018
Annual MacMillan coffee morning and bake-off in September each year.
Monodraught took part in the Marlow Dragon Boat Race with a team of 12 employees, employees’ family and friends. It was a lovely experience for the Monodraught families that attended the event and all proceeds went to charity.
Sponsorship of Bucks Mind Raw Art Gallery. Also, one of our employees donated a piece of her work and we bought a piece of art for the office by artist Sue Smith. The exhibition raised over £2,000 in one weekend.
Contribution to Middlesex University research about small businesses who pay the Living Wage. The research was published in October 2016.
Participated in the Virgin Media Pitch to Rich programme in 2015: For every vote, we donated £1 to a special education institution.

Although we can and do provide support through fundraising, our aim is to use the skills and facilities we have to support our nominated charities, such as our marketing skills, use of our printers and vans where required.

As Monodraught, prior to the recent management buyout, was part of the VKR Group as at 31 December 2016, it is required to publish its tax strategy in accordance with Sch 19, Finance Act 2016. As this requirement stems from its time as a member of that Group, the Directors recently considered the tax strategy published by VKR and concluded that it reflects the approach to tax adopted by Monodraught itself (both in relation to its time as a member of the Group and subsequently). As a result, the Board resolved to adopt the VKR tax strategy in its entirety albeit that it should now be read in a non-Group domestic UK context.
